About the Splitter PCB

Splitter is an open source PCB design by rabidaudio, published on GitHub. It is a 2-layer board measuring 52 × 63.5 mm, with 41 components from 25 distinct parts.

Other key parts include the TL074 and TLE2426xLP. By type, the board carries 12 resistors, 10 capacitors, 9 connectors, 3 jumpers, 2 ICs and 2 switches.

It belongs with the audio and power & battery designs in this gallery.

From the project

Effects pedals and stomboxes

Route certain frequencies through a different effects chain.

1. Cutoff (7Hz to 7kHz) 2. Send mode switch (highs, all, lows) 3. Wet/Dry mix 4. Bypass switch

When bypassed (4), IN is connected to OUT (true bypass) and the device is powered off.

This mode can be used to turn a separate parallel effects chain on and off. Mix (3) is a wet/dry blend.

IN is sent to SEND. IN and RECV are mixed and sent to OUT. Cutoff (1) has no effect.

Splitter: common questions

How big is the Splitter PCB?

The Splitter measures 52 × 63.5 mm, has 2 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.

How many components are on the Splitter?

41 components, from 25 distinct parts. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the Splitter design files?

From the rabidaudio/effects repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout and the schematic; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the Splitter design in my own project?

The repository has no license, so all rights stay with rabidaudio. Use it as a reference, and ask the author before reusing the design.
