About the Electropulse PCB

Electropulse is an open source ESP32 PCB design by Shehroz30, published on GitHub under the MIT license. It is a 4-layer board measuring 50 × 50 mm, with 51 components from 30 distinct parts.

Its main chip is the ESP32-C3-WROOM-02-N4, from the ESP32 family. Other key parts include the TPS55340RTER and TPS63020DSJR. By type, the board carries 20 capacitors, 15 resistors, 4 transistors, 3 ICs, 3 diodes and 2 connectors.

It belongs with the iot & wireless designs in this gallery.

The code is written using Arduino IDE compiled for an ESP32-C3. Please note that the local host where the web page is hosted depends entirely on your ESP32, so it may not be the same for everyone. Also be sure to input your wifi credentials when flashing so that the ESP32 can connect to WiFi.

Electropulse: common questions

What microcontroller does the Electropulse use?

The Electropulse is built around the ESP32-C3-WROOM-02-N4, from the ESP32 family.

How big is the Electropulse PCB?

The Electropulse measures 50 × 50 mm, has 4 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.

How many components are on the Electropulse?

51 components, from 30 distinct parts, with part numbers taken from the project's own BOM. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the Electropulse design files?

From the Shehroz30/electropulse repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout, the schematic and the BOM; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the Electropulse design in my own project?

Yes, under the terms of its MIT license, which Shehroz30 chose for the repository.

Can I test firmware for the Electropulse without the hardware?

Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug ESP32 firmware against it before you order a PCB.
