About the Lego tamagotchi PCB
Lego tamagotchi is an open source ESP32 PCB design by shelxty, published on GitHub. It is a 2-layer board measuring 64.3 × 76.8 mm, with 7 components from 5 distinct parts.
Its main chip is the XIAO-ESP32-C3-SMD, from the ESP32 family. Other key parts include the HS96L03W2C03. By type, the board carries 3 switches, 2 ICs and 1 battery holder.
It belongs with the displays & leds and iot & wireless designs in this gallery.
From the project
Simple tamagotchi with OLED display screen, buzzer, and 3 buttons custom-made in KiCad, with parts assembled in OnShape.
This is a tamagotchi (a virtual pet) modeled after a lego piece! Created for Hack Club's #Fallout YSWS. It's my first larger-scale hardware project!
He says hello! And also asks you to help him find a name! (Because I'm not creative)
Anyways, this is my first completed hardware project that uses both PCBs and CAD. Thank you Tanishq!

Lego tamagotchi: common questions
What microcontroller does the Lego tamagotchi use?
The Lego tamagotchi is built around the XIAO-ESP32-C3-SMD, from the ESP32 family.
How big is the Lego tamagotchi PCB?
The Lego tamagotchi measures 64.3 × 76.8 mm, has 2 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.
How many components are on the Lego tamagotchi?
7 components, from 5 distinct parts, with part numbers taken from the project's own BOM. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.
Where can I download the Lego tamagotchi design files?
From the shelxty/lego-tamagotchi repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout, the schematic and the BOM; the links under Design files point to each one.
Can I use the Lego tamagotchi design in my own project?
The repository has no license, so all rights stay with shelxty. Use it as a reference, and ask the author before reusing the design.
Can I test firmware for the Lego tamagotchi without the hardware?
Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug ESP32 firmware against it before you order a PCB.
