Radiosonde platform to develop, test and integrate payloads for the future CubeSats missions

This repository contains the software and the PCB designs of a radiosonde. This radiosonde is used as a platform to test and integrate payloads for the future CubeSat missions. Version 4.0 complies with the PC104 board standard for CubeSats. The balloon's software architecture uses a command pattern with a ZMQ data format.

The OBC of the radiosonde consists on a PC104 PCB board compatible with the design specification of the SUCHAI CubeSat. The shape of the board considers spaces to improve the cable management inside the radiosonde. The board has some socket pins to connect either a…

The KiCad project lives in the spel-uchile/balloon_experiment repository on GitHub; these links point at the commit this page was built from.

OBC: common questions

How big is the OBC PCB?

The OBC measures 96 × 89.9 mm, has 2 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.

How many components are on the OBC?

14 components, from 13 distinct parts. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the OBC design files?

From the spel-uchile/balloon_experiment repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the OBC design in my own project?

The repository has no license, so all rights stay with spel-uchile. Use it as a reference, and ask the author before reusing the design.
