About the Sixeyes Follower PCB Beta

Sixeyes Follower PCB Beta is an open source ESP32 PCB design by studiosanka, published on GitHub under the Custom license license. It is a 2-layer board measuring 54.6 × 56.6 mm, with 21 components from 10 distinct parts.

Its main chip is the ESP32-S3-WROOM-1, from the ESP32 family. Other key parts include the TMC2209-LA, MIC5219-3.3YM5 and CH340K. By type, the board carries 14 connectors and 7 ICs.

It belongs with the robotics & motion designs in this gallery.

From the project

~S$250 6-DOF robotic arm with 500 g @ 500 mm capability.

A ~S$250 6-DOF robotic arm with 500 g @ 500 mm capability.

An open-source, in-progress robotics platform: a 5-DOF arm plus a gripper, spanning ESP32 firmware, ROS2 integration, and hardware bring-up. The ~S$250 figure is the whole-arm build budget (prints, mechanics and electronics; PSU and compute excluded), and 500 g at 500 mm is the design target.

Repository: studiosanka/sixeyes NodeMesh subproject (optional, 4-MCU edge system): studiosanka/nodemesh — currently targets legacy Alpha/Beta hardware only, not yet compatible with v1 CycloCad subproject (cycloidal gear generator)…

Sixeyes Follower PCB Beta: common questions

What microcontroller does the Sixeyes Follower PCB Beta use?

The Sixeyes Follower PCB Beta is built around the ESP32-S3-WROOM-1, from the ESP32 family.

How big is the Sixeyes Follower PCB Beta?

The Sixeyes Follower PCB Beta measures 54.6 × 56.6 mm, has 2 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.

How many components are on the Sixeyes Follower PCB Beta?

21 components, from 10 distinct parts, with part numbers taken from the project's own BOM. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the Sixeyes Follower PCB Beta design files?

From the studiosanka/sixeyes repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout, the schematic and the BOM; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the Sixeyes Follower PCB Beta design in my own project?

It is published under Custom license, which limits how it may be reused; read the license before building on it.

Can I test firmware for the Sixeyes Follower PCB Beta without the hardware?

Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug ESP32 firmware against it before you order a PCB.
