About the VAMP PCB

VAMP is an open source PCB design by syntonos, published on GitHub under the GPL-3.0 license. It is a 4-layer board measuring 217.9 × 60 mm, with 88 components from 37 distinct parts.

Other key parts include the Daisy_Seed3, ER_OLEDM0.91_1x-I2C, YV13S-L7.85-B10Ka(60)-0-DL01, OPA1652AIDR and TPA6110A2DGN. By type, the board carries 27 resistors, 23 capacitors, 20 switches, 9 ICs, 2 microphones and 1 module.

It belongs with the audio and displays & leds designs in this gallery.

From the project

An experimental, intuitive sampler synth, based with Daisy Seed 3.

An experimental, intuitive sampler synth, based with Daisy Seed 3. Pocket sized and equipped with an onboard sampling mic.

VAMP by syntonos is a play on both of those definitions. Take the lifeblood of a sound, then build a creature of your own with it. Built for field sampling and on-the-go chord construction, with an onboard microphone and headphone port.

At its most basic, I'd like it to be able to take a sample and pitch shift it to match each of the octave's keys + modulation with sampling and playback with the knobs & joystick (time dilation, pitch, reverb, distortion, sampling…

VAMP: common questions

How big is the VAMP PCB?

The VAMP measures 217.9 × 60 mm, has 4 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.

How many components are on the VAMP?

88 components, from 37 distinct parts, with part numbers taken from the project's own BOM. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the VAMP design files?

From the syntonos/VAMP repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout, the schematic and the BOM; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the VAMP design in my own project?

Yes, under the terms of its GPL-3.0 license, which syntonos chose for the repository.
