About the Tanklevel PCB

Tanklevel is an open source ESP32 PCB design by Th3Link, published on GitHub under the CERN-OHL-S-2.0 license. It is a 4-layer board measuring 70 × 60 mm, with 68 components from 27 distinct parts.

Its main chip is the ESP32-WROOM-32, from the ESP32 family. Other key parts include the LAN8720A and MCP3221. By type, the board carries 35 resistors, 23 capacitors, 5 diodes, 3 ICs, 1 fuse and 1 inductor.

It belongs with the iot & wireless designs in this gallery.

From the project

This project provides a solution for measuring the liquid level in tanks, such as rainwater tanks, using the TL-136 pressure sensor. It is designed for easy integration with home automation systems, connecting via Wi-Fi or Ethernet.

Tanklevel: common questions

What microcontroller does the Tanklevel use?

The Tanklevel is built around the ESP32-WROOM-32, from the ESP32 family.

How big is the Tanklevel PCB?

The Tanklevel measures 70 × 60 mm, has 4 copper layers and is 4.69 mm thick.

How many components are on the Tanklevel?

68 components, from 27 distinct parts. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the Tanklevel design files?

From the Th3Link/tanklevel repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout and the schematic; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the Tanklevel design in my own project?

Yes, under the terms of its CERN-OHL-S-2.0 license, which Th3Link chose for the repository.

Can I test firmware for the Tanklevel without the hardware?

Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug ESP32 firmware against it before you order a PCB.
