microcontroller-projects ========================

A home for my microcontroller projects, including Stubby the Hexapod and others. It includes libraries for avr-gcc along with sample programs on how to use them, some KiCad modules, and the source code for a number of projects.

Some major projects include: Stubby the Hexapod (http://stubby.digitalcave.ca/stubby/) (Now extracted into its own repo at https://github.com/thebiguno/stubby) DrumMaster (http://drummaster.digitalcave.ca/drummaster/) * Chiindii (http://chiindii.digitalcave.ca/chiindii/)

Drum Master: common questions

What microcontroller does the Drum Master use?

The Drum Master is built around the TEENSY_3.1, from the NXP family.

How big is the Drum Master PCB?

The Drum Master measures 99.7 × 99.7 mm, has 2 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.

How many components are on the Drum Master?

180 components, from 37 distinct parts, with part numbers taken from the project's own BOM. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the Drum Master design files?

From the thebiguno/microcontroller-projects repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout and the BOM; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the Drum Master design in my own project?

The repository has no license, so all rights stay with thebiguno. Use it as a reference, and ask the author before reusing the design.

Can I test firmware for the Drum Master without the hardware?

Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug NXP firmware against it before you order a PCB.
