About the Line follower PCB

Line follower is an open source AVR/Arduino PCB design by thebiguno, published on GitHub. It is a 2-layer board measuring 48.3 × 48.3 mm, with 38 components from 18 distinct parts.

Its main chip is the ARDUINO_PRO_MICRO, from the AVR/Arduino family. Other key parts include the BOOST and L293D. By type, the board carries 11 resistors, 6 connectors, 6 diodes, 5 transistors, 3 ICs and 1 switch.

From the project

A home for a bunch of microcontroller projects which don't warrant their own repos.

microcontroller-projects ========================

A home for my microcontroller projects, including Stubby the Hexapod and others. It includes libraries for avr-gcc along with sample programs on how to use them, some KiCad modules, and the source code for a number of projects.

Some major projects include: Stubby the Hexapod (http://stubby.digitalcave.ca/stubby/) (Now extracted into its own repo at https://github.com/thebiguno/stubby) DrumMaster (http://drummaster.digitalcave.ca/drummaster/) * Chiindii (http://chiindii.digitalcave.ca/chiindii/)

Line follower: common questions

What microcontroller does the Line follower use?

The Line follower is built around the ARDUINO_PRO_MICRO, from the AVR/Arduino family.

How big is the Line follower PCB?

The Line follower measures 48.3 × 48.3 mm, has 2 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.

How many components are on the Line follower?

38 components, from 18 distinct parts, with part numbers taken from the project's own BOM. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the Line follower design files?

From the thebiguno/microcontroller-projects repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout and the BOM; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the Line follower design in my own project?

The repository has no license, so all rights stay with thebiguno. Use it as a reference, and ask the author before reusing the design.

Can I test firmware for the Line follower without the hardware?

Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug AVR/Arduino firmware against it before you order a PCB.
