About the Seed pedal PCB

Seed pedal is an open source ESP32 PCB design by TMANTsmith, published on GitHub. It is a 4-layer board measuring 54 × 106 mm, with 67 components from 26 distinct parts.

Its main chip is the C5371993, from the ESP32 family. Other key parts include the C30026, TPS5430DDA, 78L05G-AB3-R and C50984. By type, the board carries 26 capacitors, 26 resistors, 4 inductors, 3 ICs, 2 modules and 2 transistors.

It belongs with the audio and iot & wireless designs in this gallery.

From the project

esp23 + daisy guitar pedal

This is a guitar pedal with the goal of combining the audio processing power of the Daisy Seed with the wifi capabilities of the Esp32C series (currently only testing the C6). This way you can fully control the guitar pedal with your phone connected by a website hosted by the esp32 and for low-latantcy tasks physical buttons will be on the board. This will allow for greator flexability through the user being able to add or remove buttons by making changes to the website allowing them to have any configuration they want.

Seed pedal design files

The KiCad project lives in the TMANTsmith/daisy-esp32-guitar-pedal repository on GitHub; these links point at the commit this page was built from.

Seed pedal: common questions

What microcontroller does the Seed pedal use?

The Seed pedal is built around the C5371993, from the ESP32 family.

How big is the Seed pedal PCB?

The Seed pedal measures 54 × 106 mm, has 4 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.

How many components are on the Seed pedal?

67 components, from 26 distinct parts, with part numbers taken from the project's own BOM. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the Seed pedal design files?

From the TMANTsmith/daisy-esp32-guitar-pedal repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout, the schematic and the BOM; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the Seed pedal design in my own project?

The repository has no license, so all rights stay with TMANTsmith. Use it as a reference, and ask the author before reusing the design.

Can I test firmware for the Seed pedal without the hardware?

Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug ESP32 firmware against it before you order a PCB.
