About the Arduino nanoPB PCB

Arduino nanoPB is an open source AVR/Arduino PCB design by tomaskovacik, published on GitHub under the Custom license license. It is a 2-layer board measuring 18.3 × 48.5 mm, with 42 components from 24 distinct parts.

Its main chip is the ATMEGA328PB-AU, from the AVR/Arduino family. Other key parts include the CP2102N-A01-GQFN28, AP1117-50 and AP1117-33. By type, the board carries 9 capacitors, 9 resistors, 8 connectors, 6 diodes, 4 ICs and 1 crystal.

HW (pcb, schematics etc) for my projects

NanoPB is an almost drop-in replacement for Arduino Nano boards. Almost because it has two more pins compared to the original Nano board, it is more capable thanks to upgraded ATmega328PB chip, check out this pdf from Microchip to learn more about the difference between the classic and the PB version of ATmega328.

While I was playing with these upgraded chips and overall Arduino boards, I designed more then what I need (one breadboard adapter :) ).

Arduino nanoPB: common questions

What microcontroller does the Arduino nanoPB use?

The Arduino nanoPB is built around the ATMEGA328PB-AU, from the AVR/Arduino family.

How big is the Arduino nanoPB PCB?

The Arduino nanoPB measures 18.3 × 48.5 mm, has 2 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.

How many components are on the Arduino nanoPB?

42 components, from 24 distinct parts, with part numbers taken from the project's own BOM. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the Arduino nanoPB design files?

From the tomaskovacik/hw repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout and the BOM; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the Arduino nanoPB design in my own project?

It is published under Custom license, which limits how it may be reused; read the license before building on it.

Can I test firmware for the Arduino nanoPB without the hardware?

Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug AVR/Arduino firmware against it before you order a PCB.
