About the 4116 PCB
4116 is an open source PCB design by tops4u, published on GitHub under the GPL-3.0 license. It is a 2-layer board measuring 31.8 × 37.1 mm, with 32 components from 25 distinct parts.
Other key parts include the ICL7660ACBAZA and TLV61046ADBVR. By type, the board carries 8 capacitors, 8 resistors, 5 diodes, 4 inductors, 2 ICs and 2 transistors.
It belongs with the retro computing and power & battery designs in this gallery.
From the project
Ram Tester for vintage CBM Computer RAM Chips
This is the adapter board for testing 4116 and 4027 RAM chips. These chips require −5 V and +12 V supply voltages that the main tester board does not provide.
The RAM Tester was never originally designed to support 4116 RAM — this feature was added later due to popular demand. When designing the adapter, I wanted to make sure it would be both easy to use and safe. That's why I included LEDs to indicate when all necessary voltages are present, as 4116 RAM can be very sensitive to missing or incorrect voltages. I also added latch-up protection for the ICL7660 chip, which could otherwise lock…
