From the project

The repository for designing the PCB for the VGA-mixer in TDT4295

It should support the SVGA resolution 800x600 @ 60Hz and 16-bit color depth. The colors are stored as (5,6,5)-bit RGB values internally.

On the board there are several buttons and an LCD screen, allowing you to pick between different modes: - Showing only the foreground - Showing only the background - Overlaying with chroma keying appied to the foreground - Showing the foreground at 25%, 50% or 75% transparancy - Adding the colors (double exposure)

Pcb: common questions

What microcontroller does the Pcb use?

The Pcb is built around the XC7A100T-FTG256, from the FPGA family.

How big is the Pcb?

The Pcb measures 177.7 × 96.7 mm, has 6 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.

How many components are on the Pcb?

398 components, from 82 distinct parts. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the Pcb design files?

From the vgacentrifuge/pcb repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout and the schematic; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the Pcb design in my own project?

The repository has no license, so all rights stay with vgacentrifuge. Use it as a reference, and ask the author before reusing the design.

Can I test firmware for the Pcb without the hardware?

Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug FPGA firmware against it before you order a PCB.
