About the V0 Display RP2040 PCB

V0 Display RP2040 is an open source RP2040/RP2350 PCB design by VoronDesign, published on GitHub under the GPL-3.0 license. It is a 2-layer board measuring 80 × 35 mm, with 36 components from 21 distinct parts.

Its main chip is the TMC2130-LA-T, from the RP2040/RP2350 family. By type, the board carries 17 capacitors, 7 resistors, 5 ICs, 3 switches, 1 crystal and 1 connector.

It belongs with the displays & leds designs in this gallery.

Cool Hardware designed by the Voron Design group

The reason I built this board is because I had a very difficult time sourcing the original V0_Display, evidently the chips were in short supply. The best I could get was an already assembled unit from China, which did work but I really wanted to find a more readily available option (and not wait 3 months again). Additionally, this was a challenge for me as I really enjoy in the creation and testing of hardware like this.

V0 Display RP2040: common questions

What microcontroller does the V0 Display RP2040 use?

The V0 Display RP2040 is built around the TMC2130-LA-T, from the RP2040/RP2350 family.

How big is the V0 Display RP2040 PCB?

The V0 Display RP2040 measures 80 × 35 mm, has 2 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.

How many components are on the V0 Display RP2040?

36 components, from 21 distinct parts, with part numbers taken from the project's own BOM. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the V0 Display RP2040 design files?

From the VoronDesign/Voron-Hardware repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout, the schematic and the BOM; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the V0 Display RP2040 design in my own project?

Yes, under the terms of its GPL-3.0 license, which VoronDesign chose for the repository.

Can I test firmware for the V0 Display RP2040 without the hardware?

Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug RP2040/RP2350 firmware against it before you order a PCB.
