About the Sirith pico PCB

Sirith pico is an open source RP2040/RP2350 PCB design by winedarksea, published on GitHub under the CERN-OHL-W-2.0 license. It is a 4-layer board measuring 158.3 × 50 mm, with 272 components from 79 distinct parts.

Its main chip is the C2040, from the RP2040/RP2350 family. Other key parts include the CYPD3177-24LQXQ, C2655100, C779278, C2651516 and XIAO. By type, the board carries 102 resistors, 82 capacitors, 25 connectors, 21 diodes, 15 ICs and 10 transistors.

It belongs with the power & battery, robotics & motion and sensors designs in this gallery.

From the project

A rp2040 robotics board with high power power delivery

This board was designed to do something standard dev boards cannot do: provide high power (12V, 60W) output with a microcontroller and a powerful rechargeable battery. It was designed to power something like a Raspberry Pi Zero, manage an array of servos, contain basic sensor data, log data to an SD card, and send and switch high power off board.

As a number of the ICs on this board are rather expensive, there is also a fairly extensive focus on circuit protections for power sources and GPIO pins, with the aim of reducing the probability of damage to the board.

Sirith pico: common questions

What microcontroller does the Sirith pico use?

The Sirith pico is built around the C2040, from the RP2040/RP2350 family.

How big is the Sirith pico PCB?

The Sirith pico measures 158.3 × 50 mm, has 4 copper layers and is 1.6762 mm thick.

How many components are on the Sirith pico?

272 components, from 79 distinct parts, with part numbers taken from the project's own BOM. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the Sirith pico design files?

From the winedarksea/sirith_pico repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout, the schematic and the BOM; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the Sirith pico design in my own project?

Yes, under the terms of its CERN-OHL-W-2.0 license, which winedarksea chose for the repository.

Can I test firmware for the Sirith pico without the hardware?

Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug RP2040/RP2350 firmware against it before you order a PCB.
