About the Power supply PCB

Power supply is an open source PCB design by zapta, published on GitHub. It is a 2-layer board measuring 90 × 88.4 mm, with 18 components from 13 distinct parts.

Other key parts include the URB2405YMD-10WR3 and ESD5344D. By type, the board carries 4 test points, 4 diodes, 3 fuses, 2 ICs, 2 capacitors and 2 resistors.

It belongs with the power & battery designs in this gallery.

From the project

A modular data acquisition system.

This plugin board contains an DC/DC module which generates the 5VCD feed of the bus from the 12-24V DC input.

The power supply is isolated such that VIN is not galvanically connected to the system. Can provide 5V @ 2A from 9-36VDC input. Contains fuses on input and output voltages and ESD protection on the 5V output voltage. Contains indication LEDs for input and output voltages. Contains test points for input and output voltages. Inexpensive 2 layers PCB design with one layer dedicated for ground plane. * Not intended for hot swapping.

Power supply: common questions

How big is the Power supply PCB?

The Power supply measures 90 × 88.4 mm, has 2 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.

How many components are on the Power supply?

18 components, from 13 distinct parts, with part numbers taken from the project's own BOM. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the Power supply design files?

From the zapta/daq repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout, the schematic and the BOM; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the Power supply design in my own project?

The repository has no license, so all rights stay with zapta. Use it as a reference, and ask the author before reusing the design.
