About the Power Supply PCB

Power Supply is an open source AVR/Arduino PCB design by adsehgal, published on GitHub. It is a 2-layer board measuring 100 × 50 mm, with 94 components from 43 distinct parts.

Its main chip is the ATMEGA328PB-AU, from the AVR/Arduino family. Other key parts include the MIC5205-5.0YM5, TPS54531DDAR, LM358, INA138 and MCP4023-103ECH. By type, the board carries 35 capacitors, 25 resistors, 11 ICs, 9 diodes, 4 connectors and 4 switches.

It belongs with the power & battery designs in this gallery.

From the project

A design for a custom bench top power supply for prototyping.

This repo contains project files for a bench top power supply I designed for my home lab.

- Small for crammed work spaces - Adjustable and designed to store values on each power cycle - 2 layer board - V2.0 bumped to 4 layer - Digitally controlled - no mechanical parts - Clear annunciators - Uses an external AC-DC converter - At least a 2A max load - Cover most logic levels - Possibly have preset buttons

Power Supply: common questions

What microcontroller does the Power Supply use?

The Power Supply is built around the ATMEGA328PB-AU, from the AVR/Arduino family.

How big is the Power Supply PCB?

The Power Supply measures 100 × 50 mm, has 2 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.

How many components are on the Power Supply?

94 components, from 43 distinct parts, with part numbers taken from the project's own BOM. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the Power Supply design files?

From the adsehgal/Bench_Power_Supply repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout, the schematic and the BOM; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the Power Supply design in my own project?

The repository has no license, so all rights stay with adsehgal. Use it as a reference, and ask the author before reusing the design.

Can I test firmware for the Power Supply without the hardware?

Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug AVR/Arduino firmware against it before you order a PCB.
