About the Bench PCB
Bench is an open source ESP32 PCB design by Amir-Vered, published on GitHub under the CERN-OHL-P-2.0 license. It is a 2-layer board measuring 85 × 45 mm, with 36 components from 20 distinct parts.
Its main chip is the ESP32-S3-WROOM-1-N8R8, from the ESP32 family. Other key parts include the TLV62569DBVR, USBLC6-2SC6 and TPS2553DBV. By type, the board carries 17 resistors, 9 capacitors, 4 ICs, 3 connectors, 1 fuse and 1 diode.
It belongs with the iot & wireless designs in this gallery.

TL;DR wires are annoying, let's put Bench in the middle of the Arduino workflow.
I love Arduino, it's perfect for prototyping your projects before making your PCBs. But, idk about you, the most annoying thing to me is the fact that the board is tied to my laptop. And it's not a graceful connection, no, these wires are some of the most stale twisted things you've ever used, especially the uni lab ones. This gets even worse when you're using a desktop computer. But what if we put a device in the middle?

Bench: common questions
What microcontroller does the Bench use?
The Bench is built around the ESP32-S3-WROOM-1-N8R8, from the ESP32 family.
How big is the Bench PCB?
The Bench measures 85 × 45 mm, has 2 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.
How many components are on the Bench?
36 components, from 20 distinct parts, with part numbers taken from the project's own BOM. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.
Where can I download the Bench design files?
From the Amir-Vered/Bench repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout, the schematic and the BOM; the links under Design files point to each one.
Can I use the Bench design in my own project?
Yes, under the terms of its CERN-OHL-P-2.0 license, which Amir-Vered chose for the repository.
Can I test firmware for the Bench without the hardware?
Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug ESP32 firmware against it before you order a PCB.
