About the Siedle bus PCB

Siedle bus is an open source ESP32 PCB design by angelnu, published on GitHub under the Apache-2.0 license. It is a 2-layer board measuring 43.5 × 37 mm, with 34 components from 23 distinct parts.

Its main chip is the ESP32-WROOM-32, from the ESP32 family. By type, the board carries 16 resistors, 5 transistors, 5 capacitors, 2 ICs, 2 switches and 2 diodes.

It belongs with the iot & wireless and power & battery designs in this gallery.

Settings for esphome

This PCB allows interacting with a Sidle In-Home bus and automatically trigger actions or connect it to home automation such as Home Assistant. It uses ESPHome as base firmware. The power comes from the bus so no additional power supply is needed.

Siedle bus: common questions

What microcontroller does the Siedle bus use?

The Siedle bus is built around the ESP32-WROOM-32, from the ESP32 family.

How big is the Siedle bus PCB?

The Siedle bus measures 43.5 × 37 mm, has 2 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.

How many components are on the Siedle bus?

34 components, from 23 distinct parts. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the Siedle bus design files?

From the angelnu/esphome repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout and the schematic; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the Siedle bus design in my own project?

Yes, under the terms of its Apache-2.0 license, which angelnu chose for the repository.

Can I test firmware for the Siedle bus without the hardware?

Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug ESP32 firmware against it before you order a PCB.
