About the Roomnode c6 PCB

Roomnode c6 is an open source ESP32 PCB design by AskAlice, published on GitHub. It is a 2-layer board measuring 55 × 45 mm, with 27 components from 19 distinct parts.

Its main chip is the ESP32-C6-WROOM-1-N8, from the ESP32 family. Other key parts include the ME6211C33, SHT31-DIS-B, BH1750FVI and BME280. By type, the board carries 7 resistors, 6 capacitors, 5 ICs, 4 connectors, 3 diodes and 2 switches.

It belongs with the iot & wireless, sensors and rf & radio designs in this gallery.

From the project

Multifunction ESP32 (S3/C6/C3) home IoT room sensor nodes — KiCad 8 hardware, ESPHome firmware, JLCPCB-ready. One per room: presence (mmWave/PIR), BLE tracking, temp/RH, VOC, CO2, PM, lux, addressable LEDs.

WiFi 6 + BLE 5.3 + 802.15.4 (Thread/Zigbee) room-sensor node built around the ESP32-C6-WROOM-1-N8. Primary role: BLE presence tracker (phone/beacon RSSI tracking via esp32bletracker / blepresence in ESPHome) with full environmental sensing. The C6's 802.15.4 radio also makes the node Thread border-router / Zigbee capable** (e.g. OpenThread Border Router or Zigbee coordinator firmware), and WiFi 6 target-wake-time keeps idle power low for dense deployments.

Roomnode c6: common questions

What microcontroller does the Roomnode c6 use?

The Roomnode c6 is built around the ESP32-C6-WROOM-1-N8, from the ESP32 family.

How big is the Roomnode c6 PCB?

The Roomnode c6 measures 55 × 45 mm, has 2 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.

How many components are on the Roomnode c6?

27 components, from 19 distinct parts. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the Roomnode c6 design files?

From the AskAlice/room-node-pcbs repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout and the schematic; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the Roomnode c6 design in my own project?

The repository has no license, so all rights stay with AskAlice. Use it as a reference, and ask the author before reusing the design.

Can I test firmware for the Roomnode c6 without the hardware?

Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug ESP32 firmware against it before you order a PCB.
