About the Scriptstick PCB

Scriptstick is an open source RP2040/RP2350 PCB design by axellse, published on GitHub. It is a 2-layer board measuring 46.1 × 18.7 mm, with 35 components from 21 distinct parts.

Its main chip is the RP2040, from the RP2040/RP2350 family. Other key parts include the DSHP04TSGER_C3293144, USBLC6-2SC6, W25Q128JVS, ABM8-272-T3_C20625731 and Ai-Thinker-Ra-02. By type, the board carries 12 capacitors, 9 resistors, 6 ICs, 2 transistors and 2 LEDs.

better badusb

The scriptstick is a versatile scripting device in the form of a usb flash drive. It is very similar to the traditional badusb, but since it uses Lua instead of DuckyScript, it can do so much more than act as a keyboard. The onboard hardware also allows for things like meshtastic. The firmware writen in go with tinygo.

I made this project because i love the form factor of a usb stick, and i felt that a lot of fun could be had by expanding the capabilities of traditional bad usbs to more than just HID. By adding just a couple of hardware components you can make a regular looking usb stick so…

Scriptstick: common questions

What microcontroller does the Scriptstick use?

The Scriptstick is built around the RP2040, from the RP2040/RP2350 family.

How big is the Scriptstick PCB?

The Scriptstick measures 46.1 × 18.7 mm, has 2 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.

How many components are on the Scriptstick?

35 components, from 21 distinct parts, with part numbers taken from the project's own BOM. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the Scriptstick design files?

From the axellse/scriptstick repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout, the schematic and the BOM; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the Scriptstick design in my own project?

The repository has no license, so all rights stay with axellse. Use it as a reference, and ask the author before reusing the design.

Can I test firmware for the Scriptstick without the hardware?

Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug RP2040/RP2350 firmware against it before you order a PCB.
