About the Pokus PCB

Pokus is an open source PCB design by cernohorsky, published on GitHub. It is a 2-layer board measuring 100 × 80 mm, with 141 components from 46 distinct parts.

Other key parts include the TC1262-33, Si570, SN74CBT3253, PCM3060 and CY8C3246PVI-147. By type, the board carries 64 capacitors, 40 resistors, 12 ICs, 6 connectors, 6 inductors and 5 transistors.

It belongs with the rf & radio designs in this gallery.

From the project

HF Software Defined Radio Transceiver that includes ADC and DAC circuits. No soundcard is needed. Board communicates only trough one USB cable.

- 96kHz digital I/Q interface. - more then 80dB dynamic range. - DG8SAQ/PE0FKO/SoftRock control interface. - Open Source firmware (https://github.com/AE9RB/peaberry) - SWD/JTAG port.

ToDo: - Change SMA and USB footprints - Add PA - Implement band switching

Based on: AE9RB Peaberry SDR and RS-HFIQ Transceiver

Pokus: common questions

How big is the Pokus PCB?

The Pokus measures 100 × 80 mm, has 2 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.

How many components are on the Pokus?

141 components, from 46 distinct parts. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the Pokus design files?

From the cernohorsky/DeltaSDR repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the Pokus design in my own project?

The repository has no license, so all rights stay with cernohorsky. Use it as a reference, and ask the author before reusing the design.
