Tests of various "circuit as code" tools

An isolated USB interface for the Solartron 7075 DVM, described in SKiDL and laid out for KiCad 10. It plugs into the 50-way Cannon socket (SKB) of the 7075's Parallel BCD Interface Unit 70754 (service manual section 9). From there it reads the display data and status lines, drives all the remote-control inputs, and connects to a host over USB through an RP2354A.

The KiCad project lives in the cHemingway/llm_circuitgen_tests repository on GitHub; these links point at the commit this page was built from.

Solartron 7075 USB interface (SKiDL): common questions

What microcontroller does the Solartron 7075 USB interface (SKiDL) use?

The Solartron 7075 USB interface (SKiDL) is built around the RP2354A, from the Raspberry Pi family.

How big is the Solartron 7075 USB interface (SKiDL) PCB?

The Solartron 7075 USB interface (SKiDL) measures 112 × 44 mm, has 4 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.

How many components are on the Solartron 7075 USB interface (SKiDL)?

93 components, from 38 distinct parts, with part numbers taken from the project's own BOM. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the Solartron 7075 USB interface (SKiDL) design files?

From the cHemingway/llm_circuitgen_tests repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout, the schematic and the BOM; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the Solartron 7075 USB interface (SKiDL) design in my own project?

The repository has no license, so all rights stay with cHemingway. Use it as a reference, and ask the author before reusing the design.

Can I test firmware for the Solartron 7075 USB interface (SKiDL) without the hardware?

Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug Raspberry Pi firmware against it before you order a PCB.
