About the DomoSwitch PCB
DomoSwitch is an open source ESP8266 PCB design by chipsi007, published on GitHub under the MIT license. It is a 2-layer board measuring 39.4 × 39.4 mm, with 41 components from 21 distinct parts.
Its main chip is the ESP-12, from the ESP8266 family. Other key parts include the AC/DC and AP1117D33. By type, the board carries 10 resistors, 8 connectors, 5 capacitors, 3 ICs, 2 transistors and 2 switches.
It belongs with the displays & leds designs in this gallery.
From the project
This project consists of a protocol spec, the design files for physical nodes and the source code that glues it together.
This project consists of a protocol spec, the design files for physical nodes and the source code that glues it together.
Full protocol description is available, together with examples of a monitor and a sender. The protocol is text-based to ease debugging.
ClearSky technology inside: the basic concept is that no coordinator is needed for the nodes to work after the initial configuration. There must not be a single point of (catastrophic) failure. And obviously no "cloud" (hence ClearSky) service is needed either: you, and only you, decide if/when/which data can exit from your network!

DomoSwitch: common questions
What microcontroller does the DomoSwitch use?
The DomoSwitch is built around the ESP-12, from the ESP8266 family.
How big is the DomoSwitch PCB?
The DomoSwitch measures 39.4 × 39.4 mm, has 2 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.
How many components are on the DomoSwitch?
41 components, from 21 distinct parts. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.
Where can I download the DomoSwitch design files?
From the chipsi007/HomeAutomation repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout; the links under Design files point to each one.
Can I use the DomoSwitch design in my own project?
Yes, under the terms of its MIT license, which chipsi007 chose for the repository.
Can I test firmware for the DomoSwitch without the hardware?
Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug ESP8266 firmware against it before you order a PCB.
