From the project

4 HP Eurorack USB/TRS MIDI-to-CV module: RP2354A firmware, KiCad hardware and v1.0 manufacturing files.

A four-channel MIDI-to-CV/Gate Eurorack module, built around the RP2354A.

Composer connects a DAW or MIDI instrument to analog synthesizers through USB MIDI or a 3.5 mm TRS MIDI input. Four CV outputs and four Gate outputs provide pitch, velocity, modulation, random voltages and clock signals across six hardware-selected modes.

ComposerMIDICV: common questions

What microcontroller does the ComposerMIDICV use?

The ComposerMIDICV is built around the RP2354A, from the Raspberry Pi family.

How big is the ComposerMIDICV PCB?

The ComposerMIDICV measures 20 × 110 mm, has 2 copper layers and is 2.09 mm thick.

How many components are on the ComposerMIDICV?

86 components, from 38 distinct parts, with part numbers taken from the project's own BOM. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the ComposerMIDICV design files?

From the CopycatMusic/ComposerMIDICV repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout, the schematic and the BOM; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the ComposerMIDICV design in my own project?

Yes, under the terms of its AGPL-3.0 license, which CopycatMusic chose for the repository.

Can I test firmware for the ComposerMIDICV without the hardware?

Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug Raspberry Pi firmware against it before you order a PCB.
