From the project

Custom mouse using PMW3389 sensor and nRF52840 microcontroller

This project contains software and hardware designs for a custom wireless mouse. This is an initial prototype intended for me to learn about hardware design and embedded software development. I combined hardware and software files into one repository for easier management. As of 2026-04-21, the design supports basic mouse functionality, including movement, button presses, and scrolling, and is powered by a 3.7V Li-ion battery, rechargeable via USB-C.

Nrfmicro: common questions

How big is the Nrfmicro PCB?

The Nrfmicro measures 18.1 × 33.3 mm, has 2 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.

How many components are on the Nrfmicro?

19 components, from 15 distinct parts, with part numbers taken from the project's own BOM. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the Nrfmicro design files?

From the cotty52/Mouse repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout, the schematic and the BOM; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the Nrfmicro design in my own project?

The repository has no license, so all rights stay with cotty52. Use it as a reference, and ask the author before reusing the design.
