About the HermesFC PCB

HermesFC is an open source STM32 PCB design by Daksh-Saksena, published on GitHub under the MIT license. It is a 4-layer board measuring 51.4 × 51.4 mm, with 64 components from 30 distinct parts.

Its main chip is the STM32F405RGTx, from the STM32 family. Other key parts include the AP63203WU, USBLC6-2SC6, MPU-6050, ICM-20948 and LD39015M18R. By type, the board carries 31 capacitors, 8 ICs, 7 connectors, 7 resistors, 3 diodes and 3 inductors.

It belongs with the robotics & motion and sensors designs in this gallery.

From the project

A hackclub Project

So there are 2 parts of our Project, the physical design and drone , and the front end code base:-

1. Weatherproofing and waterproofing while maintaining airflow to cool components 2. Constant Lidar sensing on top of the drone to autonomously navigate 3. Payload mechanisms which can easilt be swapped out, For a start we have designed two mechanisms already:

* First Aid and small package deliverer - We designed a payload dropper mechanism to drop first aid boxes in times of flooded rains

HermesFC: common questions

What microcontroller does the HermesFC use?

The HermesFC is built around the STM32F405RGTx, from the STM32 family.

How big is the HermesFC PCB?

The HermesFC measures 51.4 × 51.4 mm, has 4 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.

How many components are on the HermesFC?

64 components, from 30 distinct parts, with part numbers taken from the project's own BOM. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the HermesFC design files?

From the Daksh-Saksena/Street-Safe repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout, the schematic and the BOM; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the HermesFC design in my own project?

Yes, under the terms of its MIT license, which Daksh-Saksena chose for the repository.

Can I test firmware for the HermesFC without the hardware?

Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug STM32 firmware against it before you order a PCB.
