About the Esp32 dimmer PCB

Esp32 dimmer is an open source ESP32 PCB design by fborello-lambda, published on GitHub. It is a 2-layer board measuring 100 × 100 mm, with 19 components from 19 distinct parts.

Its main chip is the ESP32-C3 SuperMini, from the ESP32 family. Other key parts include the MOC3052M and H11AA1. By type, the board carries 8 resistors, 3 ICs, 3 connectors, 2 transistors, 1 fuse and 1 jumper.

🔌 PCBs made with LLMs

Two-layer 100 x 100 mm phase-control dimmer for a nominal 220 Vac, 50 Hz, 1000 W halogen load. An external SELV 3.3 V I2C connection powers the ESP32-C3 SuperMini. A MOC3052M provides random-phase optical triggering, an H11AA1 detects zero crossings, and a BTA16-800BW switches the load.

Esp32 dimmer: common questions

What microcontroller does the Esp32 dimmer use?

The Esp32 dimmer is built around the ESP32-C3 SuperMini, from the ESP32 family.

How big is the Esp32 dimmer PCB?

The Esp32 dimmer measures 100 × 100 mm, has 2 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.

How many components are on the Esp32 dimmer?

19 components, from 19 distinct parts, with part numbers taken from the project's own BOM. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the Esp32 dimmer design files?

From the fborello-lambda/pcbs_llm_driven_design repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout, the schematic and the BOM; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the Esp32 dimmer design in my own project?

The repository has no license, so all rights stay with fborello-lambda. Use it as a reference, and ask the author before reusing the design.

Can I test firmware for the Esp32 dimmer without the hardware?

Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug ESP32 firmware against it before you order a PCB.
