About the Rioctrl stepdir4 PCB

Rioctrl stepdir4 is an open source PCB design by festlv, published on GitHub under the CERN-OHL-S-2.0 license. It is a 2-layer board measuring 100 × 100 mm, with 94 components from 14 distinct parts.

Other key parts include the CS48505S and USBLC6-4SC6. By type, the board carries 37 resistors, 12 ICs, 12 transistors, 10 diodes, 10 capacitors and 5 connectors.

It belongs with the robotics & motion designs in this gallery.

From the project

Hardware design for modular CNC controller

This module provides 4 axis of step/dir/enable signals. Step/dir signals are differential 5V. Enable signal is at the same voltage as controller's DC input.

The connectors are RJ45 (intended use is either with motor-drive specific breakout board or a generic screw-terminal type breakout board).

RJ45 green LED is wired to enable signal.
