About the GYACSPEED PCB

GYACSPEED is an open source RP2040/RP2350 PCB design by GodOfStrategy, published on GitHub. It is a 2-layer board measuring 81 × 57.7 mm, with 33 components from 25 distinct parts.

Its main chip is the XIAO-RP2040-DIP, from the RP2040/RP2350 family. Other key parts include the NEO-M9N-00B, LSM6DS3, TPS61022RWUR and BQ29703DSER. By type, the board carries 12 capacitors, 6 resistors, 5 ICs, 5 connectors, 2 transistors and 1 diode.

It belongs with the sensors, displays & leds and rf & radio designs in this gallery.

From the project

Speedometer, accelerometer and a gyroscope for my bicycle, with the XIAO RP2040 as the MCU, with a 1.3" OLED display for the information.

How my assembled PCB is supposed to look like:

Then I designed a case in Fusion 360 for my project, and found solutions so as to how will I mount it on my bicycle and then came up with this monstrosity: The idea of the mount is to be modular and help me join the two parts by using a single mount. The mount is based on the idea of mounting the project on my bicycle handle bar. I took some measurements and made a cylinder with walls which would wrap around my bicycle bar. After that I added an extension to the cylinder with a flat base, where I added the screw holes. I then added a triangular…

GYACSPEED: common questions

What microcontroller does the GYACSPEED use?

The GYACSPEED is built around the XIAO-RP2040-DIP, from the RP2040/RP2350 family.

How big is the GYACSPEED PCB?

The GYACSPEED measures 81 × 57.7 mm, has 2 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.

How many components are on the GYACSPEED?

33 components, from 25 distinct parts, with part numbers taken from the project's own BOM. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the GYACSPEED design files?

From the GodOfStrategy/GYACSPEED repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout, the schematic and the BOM; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the GYACSPEED design in my own project?

The repository has no license, so all rights stay with GodOfStrategy. Use it as a reference, and ask the author before reusing the design.

Can I test firmware for the GYACSPEED without the hardware?

Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug RP2040/RP2350 firmware against it before you order a PCB.
