Its main chip is the MCP73831-2-OT, from the ESP32 family. Other key parts include the ESP32-C3-WROOM-02-N4, MAX31855KASA, SPX3819M5-L and SSD1306_DISPLAY. By type, the board carries 17 resistors, 11 capacitors, 5 ICs, 5 switches, 5 diodes and 4 connectors.

It belongs with the power & battery, iot & wireless and sensors designs in this gallery.

From the project

Logging Thermocouple Temperature and Send Data to InfluxDB system.

This board provides a logging function that gets data on temperature from a K-type thermocouple.

Microcontroller on board - No need for a PC when you are measuring a temperature.

Transfer Temperature data via WiFi - This Logger can transfer temperature data to Linux PC via WiFi network and you can see the dashboard graph in influxDB.

Battery Powered - Using LiPo battery. It can run for 48 hours.

The KiCad project lives in the hnz1102/temp-logger repository on GitHub; these links point at the commit this page was built from.

Temp logger: common questions

What microcontroller does the Temp logger use?

The Temp logger is built around the MCP73831-2-OT, from the ESP32 family.

How big is the Temp logger PCB?

The Temp logger measures 50 × 70 mm, has 2 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.

How many components are on the Temp logger?

52 components, from 33 distinct parts, with part numbers taken from the project's own BOM. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the Temp logger design files?

From the hnz1102/temp-logger repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout, the schematic and the BOM; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the Temp logger design in my own project?

The repository has no license, so all rights stay with hnz1102. Use it as a reference, and ask the author before reusing the design.

Can I test firmware for the Temp logger without the hardware?

Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug ESP32 firmware against it before you order a PCB.
