Wake on LAN Controller Box

Video [](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YX_4e1eiLbk)

This is the small control box that can wake up the PC using Wake On LAN. You can just push a button, PCs will wake up from the power off status. There is no need to start up another PC in order to start up a PC with Wake On Lan. Wake on LAN packets are sent via WiFi LAN. The Box has a battery, and you can charge it from a USB Type-C port. Once charging full, you can use it for a month. If any buttons are not pressed for the specified time (default 30 seconds), the box will sleep automatically and conserve battery power. Up to four PCs can…

Wakepcbox: common questions

What microcontroller does the Wakepcbox use?

The Wakepcbox is built around the ESP32-C3-WROOM-02-N4, from the ESP32 family.

How big is the Wakepcbox PCB?

The Wakepcbox measures 40 × 60 mm, has 2 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.

How many components are on the Wakepcbox?

45 components, from 28 distinct parts, with part numbers taken from the project's own BOM. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the Wakepcbox design files?

From the hnz1102/wakepcbox repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout, the schematic and the BOM; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the Wakepcbox design in my own project?

The repository has no license, so all rights stay with hnz1102. Use it as a reference, and ask the author before reusing the design.

Can I test firmware for the Wakepcbox without the hardware?

Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug ESP32 firmware against it before you order a PCB.
