From the project

Efficient and compact USB-C PD 3.1 EPR powered 2 channel speaker amplifier with DSP and digital input

ioAmp200W is a compact, USB-C-powered, 200 W-class mono audio amplifier built around an Infineon MA5332MS Class-D power stage. A Raspberry Pi RP2354A manages USB audio, power negotiation, monitoring, and auxiliary I/O.

The current schematic implements these main signal and power paths:

- RP2354A microcontroller with integrated flash - USB Audio Class 2 playback over a dedicated USB-C data port - 16-bit or 24-bit stereo USB streams at 44.1 or 48 kHz in the current firmware - I2S connection from the RP2354A to a TI TAD5112 stereo DAC - TLV9162 analog gain/level-shifting stage followed by the…

IoAmp200W: common questions

What microcontroller does the IoAmp200W use?

The IoAmp200W is built around the RP2350_60QFN, from the RP2040/RP2350 family.

How big is the IoAmp200W PCB?

The IoAmp200W measures 85.5 × 54 mm, has 6 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.

How many components are on the IoAmp200W?

365 components, from 125 distinct parts, with part numbers taken from the project's own BOM. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the IoAmp200W design files?

From the ilolson/ioAmp200W repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout, the schematic and the BOM; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the IoAmp200W design in my own project?

Yes, under the terms of its MIT license, which ilolson chose for the repository.

Can I test firmware for the IoAmp200W without the hardware?

Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug RP2040/RP2350 firmware against it before you order a PCB.
