A two-channel laboratory bench power supply, 0–36 V / 0–2 A per channel, fully isolated between channels. Each channel pairs a tracking switch-mode pre-regulator with a linear post-regulator, so it has the low output noise of a linear supply without the heat of dropping 36 V across a pass transistor.

Everything here is open: KiCad 10 schematics and layout for both boards, the firmware for all three microcontrollers, and the design calculations (loop stability, DC/DC dimensioning, ADC/DAC error budget) that back the component values.

DualPreRegPowerSupply: common questions

What microcontroller does the DualPreRegPowerSupply use?

The DualPreRegPowerSupply is built around the Waveshare RP2350-Tiny, from the RP2040/RP2350 family.

How big is the DualPreRegPowerSupply PCB?

The DualPreRegPowerSupply measures 99.6 × 100 mm, has 4 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.

How many components are on the DualPreRegPowerSupply?

351 components, from 97 distinct parts, with part numbers taken from the project's own BOM. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the DualPreRegPowerSupply design files?

From the janni0609/2-Channel-PreReg-Powersupply repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout, the schematic and the BOM; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the DualPreRegPowerSupply design in my own project?

The repository has no license, so all rights stay with janni0609. Use it as a reference, and ask the author before reusing the design.

Can I test firmware for the DualPreRegPowerSupply without the hardware?

Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug RP2040/RP2350 firmware against it before you order a PCB.
