Full-cycle hardware designs for security research devices — each device is a subfolder with its own README, schematics, PCB layout, and software stack
TRACE-REAPER is a battery-powered, pocket-sized appliance that performs power-side-channel analysis (SCA) of cryptographic hardware in the field. Most power-analysis workflows demand a bench full of equipment — a high-speed oscilloscope, a shunt/amplifier front-end, a host PC running Python notebooks, and hours of capture. TRACE-REAPER collapses all of that into one self-contained unit the size of a chunky USB stick.

Trace reaper: common questions
What microcontroller does the Trace reaper use?
The Trace reaper is built around the STM32H743VIT6, from the STM32 family.
How big is the Trace reaper PCB?
The Trace reaper measures 85.5 × 24 mm, has 4 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.
How many components are on the Trace reaper?
24 components, from 20 distinct parts. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.
Where can I download the Trace reaper design files?
From the jayis1/hacker-devices repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout and the schematic; the links under Design files point to each one.
Can I use the Trace reaper design in my own project?
The repository has no license, so all rights stay with jayis1. Use it as a reference, and ask the author before reusing the design.
Can I test firmware for the Trace reaper without the hardware?
Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug STM32 firmware against it before you order a PCB.
