Atsamd21e18a: common questions

What microcontroller does the Atsamd21e18a use?

The Atsamd21e18a is built around the ATSAMD21E, from the Microchip SAM family.

How big is the Atsamd21e18a PCB?

The Atsamd21e18a measures 15.2 × 31.8 mm, has 4 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.

How many components are on the Atsamd21e18a?

25 components, from 19 distinct parts. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the Atsamd21e18a design files?

From the jkiv/kicad-breakouts repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the Atsamd21e18a design in my own project?

It is published under CC-BY-NC-4.0, which limits how it may be reused; read the license before building on it.

Can I test firmware for the Atsamd21e18a without the hardware?

Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug Microchip SAM firmware against it before you order a PCB.
