About the Control PCB

Control is an open source PCB design by Jochen0x90h, published on GitHub under the CC-BY-NC-4.0 license. It is a 2-layer board measuring 70 × 76 mm, with 78 components from 46 distinct parts.

Other key parts include the E73-2G4M08S1C-52840, MAX98357A, MOC3043M, SP3485 and NCV7428MW3. By type, the board carries 17 capacitors, 17 resistors, 12 ICs, 9 connectors, 9 jumpers and 9 diodes.

It belongs with the iot & wireless and rf & radio designs in this gallery.

From the project

Smart home room controller based on nRF52840 with MQTT and and IEEE 802.15.4 radio support. Buttons and relays for lights and roller shutters can also be connected with a local bus using LIN physical layer

RoomControl =========== Smart home room controller based on nRF52840 with MQTT and and IEEE 802.15.4 radio support. Buttons and relays for lights and blinds can also be connected with a local bus using LIN physical layer.

Control ------- This is a 3D printed box with a display and digital potentiometer that gets installed in each room instead of the floor heating thermostat. It can control the heating valve using an opto-triac, connect to light and blind switches and relays using LIN physical layer and to battery-free switches (EnOcan) using an IEEE 802.15.4 radio interface.

Control: common questions

How big is the Control PCB?

The Control measures 70 × 76 mm, has 2 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.

How many components are on the Control?

78 components, from 46 distinct parts. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the Control design files?

From the Jochen0x90h/RoomControl repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout and the schematic; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the Control design in my own project?

It is published under CC-BY-NC-4.0, which limits how it may be reused; read the license before building on it.
