Open hardware eurorack synth modules

- Screen - 2 Encoders - 2 bipolar CV inputs with Attenuverters and offset - On the MIDI variant, two attenuverters+offset are removed, to make space (only CV in for those). CV inputs: attenuators plus offset, offset positive only - 2 Gate inputs with trigger button. - 2 CV outputs (from MPC4822, SPI) - 2 Gate outputs (some I/O port)

Mainboard: common questions

What microcontroller does the Mainboard use?

The Mainboard is built around the ATmega328P-P, from the AVR/Arduino family.

How big is the Mainboard PCB?

The Mainboard measures 39.4 × 108 mm, has 2 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.

How many components are on the Mainboard?

122 components, from 45 distinct parts. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the Mainboard design files?

From the jypma/modsynth repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout and the schematic; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the Mainboard design in my own project?

The repository has no license, so all rights stay with jypma. Use it as a reference, and ask the author before reusing the design.

Can I test firmware for the Mainboard without the hardware?

Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug AVR/Arduino firmware against it before you order a PCB.
