About the Mainboard PCB
Mainboard is an open source ESP32 PCB design by Kalilinuxloverr, published on GitHub under the MIT license. It is a 2-layer board measuring 100 × 100 mm, with 35 components from 29 distinct parts.
Its main chip is the ESP32-S3-DevKitC-1-N16R8, from the ESP32 family. Other key parts include the LD1117V33, DRV8833 Pololu #2130, DRV8833 Pololu #2130 (Fader 3/4), MT3608 Boost ~9V (optional, 4 Draehte) and ESP32-C3 SuperMini Reserve. By type, the board carries 9 connectors, 9 capacitors, 8 resistors, 7 ICs, 1 fuse and 1 diode.
It belongs with the robotics & motion and displays & leds designs in this gallery.
From the project
Wall-E-artiger Schreibtisch-Begleiter: Ampel fuer Claude Code & Downloads, Motorfader, Augen-Displays. ESP32-S3, Swift, KiCad, 3D-Druck.
Regeln (JLCPCB 2-Lagen): Leiterbahn ≥ 0,2 mm, Abstand ≥ 0,2 mm, Via 0,8/0,4 mm, Rand 0,3 mm. Netzklassen: Power 1,5 mm (Mainboard) / 1,0 mm, Motor 0,8 mm, 3V3 0,8 mm, Default 0,3 mm.

Mainboard: common questions
What microcontroller does the Mainboard use?
The Mainboard is built around the ESP32-S3-DevKitC-1-N16R8, from the ESP32 family.
How big is the Mainboard PCB?
The Mainboard measures 100 × 100 mm, has 2 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.
How many components are on the Mainboard?
35 components, from 29 distinct parts, with part numbers taken from the project's own BOM. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.
Where can I download the Mainboard design files?
From the Kalilinuxloverr/Desk-Mate repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout, the schematic and the BOM; the links under Design files point to each one.
Can I use the Mainboard design in my own project?
Yes, under the terms of its MIT license, which Kalilinuxloverr chose for the repository.
Can I test firmware for the Mainboard without the hardware?
Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug ESP32 firmware against it before you order a PCB.
