About the Fan Controller node PCB

Fan Controller node is an open source WCH CH32/CH55x PCB design by koko69420, published on GitHub. It is a 2-layer board measuring 100 × 100 mm, with 51 components from 35 distinct parts.

Its main chip is the CH32X033F8P6, from the WCH CH32/CH55x family. Other key parts include the 74HC165, MAX491E, H11AA1, HCPL-3120 and B2415S-1W. By type, the board carries 16 resistors, 9 capacitors, 7 ICs, 7 diodes, 5 connectors and 2 transistors.

From the project

Hard wired home automation, based on a RSICV MCU and RS-422 communication protocol

The HomeBus Fan Controller Node is an intelligent, solid-state AC speed controller designed for residential ceiling fans, exhaust fans, and inductive motor loads.

Unlike traditional multi-tap capacitor regulators or noisy phase-triac dimmers, the HomeBus Fan Controller combines zero-crossing detection, galvanically isolated gate driving, solid-state MOSFET switching, real-time load current sensing, and temperature monitoring on the RS-422 bus.

Fan Controller node: common questions

What microcontroller does the Fan Controller node use?

The Fan Controller node is built around the CH32X033F8P6, from the WCH CH32/CH55x family.

How big is the Fan Controller node PCB?

The Fan Controller node measures 100 × 100 mm, has 2 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.

How many components are on the Fan Controller node?

51 components, from 35 distinct parts, with part numbers taken from the project's own BOM. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the Fan Controller node design files?

From the koko69420/HomeBus repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout, the schematic and the BOM; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the Fan Controller node design in my own project?

The repository has no license, so all rights stay with koko69420. Use it as a reference, and ask the author before reusing the design.

Can I test firmware for the Fan Controller node without the hardware?

Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug WCH CH32/CH55x firmware against it before you order a PCB.
