About the Esp32-powerswitcher PCB

Esp32-powerswitcher is an open source ESP32 PCB design by matthieuvigne, published on GitHub under the GPL-3.0 license. It is a 2-layer board measuring 38 × 43 mm, with 50 components from 11 distinct parts.

Its main chip is the MODULE-SEEEDUINO-XIAO-ESP32C3, from the ESP32 family. Other key parts include the TCA9416DDFR. By type, the board carries 12 resistors, 8 transistors, 8 diodes, 6 connectors, 6 capacitors and 2 ICs.

It belongs with the robotics & motion designs in this gallery.

From the project

Generic repo for robotic projects with the former MiAM Eurobot team !

This repo contains information and software for robotic-related projects done with the MiAM Eurobot team.

Our robot architecture are based off an embedded linux on an ARM platform, Raspberry Pi or Beaglebone Black, programmed in C++. We also use Arduinos as slaves for low-level tasks such as motor control or sensor handling - using serial communication through USB.

Esp32-powerswitcher: common questions

What microcontroller does the Esp32-powerswitcher use?

The Esp32-powerswitcher is built around the MODULE-SEEEDUINO-XIAO-ESP32C3, from the ESP32 family.

How big is the Esp32-powerswitcher PCB?

The Esp32-powerswitcher measures 38 × 43 mm, has 2 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.

How many components are on the Esp32-powerswitcher?

50 components, from 11 distinct parts. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the Esp32-powerswitcher design files?

From the matthieuvigne/MiAM_robotics repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout and the schematic; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the Esp32-powerswitcher design in my own project?

Yes, under the terms of its GPL-3.0 license, which matthieuvigne chose for the repository.

Can I test firmware for the Esp32-powerswitcher without the hardware?

Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug ESP32 firmware against it before you order a PCB.
