About the RPi-Hat-Thermocouple
RPi-Hat-Thermocouple is an open source PCB design by mikelawrence, published on GitHub under the MIT license. It is a 2-layer board measuring 65 × 56 mm, with 40 components from 22 distinct parts.
Other key parts include the AT24CS32-SSHM, MAX31855KASA+, SN74LVC139APWR, DS18S20 and DS3231MZ. By type, the board carries 15 capacitors, 8 ICs, 7 resistors, 6 connectors, 1 transistor and 1 battery holder.
It belongs with the sensors and dev boards & breakouts designs in this gallery.

Raspberry Pi Thermocouple Hat
PCB is designed in KiCad which is a great free EDA toolset and is based on RPiHatTemplate by XESS Corp.
The next command writes the freshly generated and unique eepromsettings.eep` file to the EEPROM but you must push and hold the write switch on the hat before executing this command. By default the EEPROM on the hat is write protected. Pushing the write switch allows writes to occur while the switch is pushed.
