About the ESP32-Sensor-Node PCB

ESP32-Sensor-Node is an open source ESP32 PCB design by Moumne-mo, published on GitHub under the MIT license. It is a 2-layer board measuring 66.3 × 33.9 mm, with 27 components from 18 distinct parts.

Its main chip is the ESP32-WROOM-32, from the ESP32 family. Other key parts include the CH340C, BME280, MCP6002-xMC and AP2112K-3.3. By type, the board carries 9 resistors, 7 capacitors, 5 ICs, 2 switches, 2 diodes and 1 connector.

It belongs with the sensors, iot & wireless and usb & debug tools designs in this gallery.

From the project

ESP32 mixed-signal sensor board (I2C + analog)

A compact ESP32-based sensor node designed in KiCad, combining digital (I2C) and analog signal acquisition on a single board. Built to demonstrate correct practices in decoupling, bus pull-up sizing, and analog front-end design.

ESP32-Sensor-Node: common questions

What microcontroller does the ESP32-Sensor-Node use?

The ESP32-Sensor-Node is built around the ESP32-WROOM-32, from the ESP32 family.

How big is the ESP32-Sensor-Node PCB?

The ESP32-Sensor-Node measures 66.3 × 33.9 mm, has 2 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.

How many components are on the ESP32-Sensor-Node?

27 components, from 18 distinct parts. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the ESP32-Sensor-Node design files?

From the Moumne-mo/ESP32-Sensor-Node repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout and the schematic; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the ESP32-Sensor-Node design in my own project?

Yes, under the terms of its MIT license, which Moumne-mo chose for the repository.

Can I test firmware for the ESP32-Sensor-Node without the hardware?

Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug ESP32 firmware against it before you order a PCB.
