About the Pq obc comms old PCB

Pq obc comms old is an open source STM32 PCB design by nanosatlab, published on GitHub. It is a 4-layer board measuring 40 × 40 mm, with 62 components from 38 distinct parts.

Its main chip is the STM32L162RETx, from the STM32 family. Other key parts include the SX1262IMLTRT, BD2232G-GTR and RFswitch. By type, the board carries 33 capacitors, 7 inductors, 6 ICs, 5 connectors, 5 resistors and 3 crystals.

It belongs with the rf & radio, power & battery and sensors designs in this gallery.

From the project

IEEE PocketQubes

Hardware repository for the IEEE GRSS PocketQube built at the NanoSat Lab (UPC).

It holds the complete electrical and mechanical design of the satellite: KiCad projects for every PCB in the stack, the SolidWorks/STEP assembly of the full spacecraft, the deployment mechanisms, and the ground/mechanical support equipment used to integrate and test it.

This repository contains design data only — there is nothing to build or run. Flight and ground software live elsewhere, as does the PL3 payload hardware (nanosatlab/pocat-rfi-5g).

Pq obc comms old: common questions

What microcontroller does the Pq obc comms old use?

The Pq obc comms old is built around the STM32L162RETx, from the STM32 family.

How big is the Pq obc comms old PCB?

The Pq obc comms old measures 40 × 40 mm, has 4 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.

How many components are on the Pq obc comms old?

62 components, from 38 distinct parts. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the Pq obc comms old design files?

From the nanosatlab/pocat-hw repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout and the schematic; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the Pq obc comms old design in my own project?

The repository has no license, so all rights stay with nanosatlab. Use it as a reference, and ask the author before reusing the design.

Can I test firmware for the Pq obc comms old without the hardware?

Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug STM32 firmware against it before you order a PCB.
