About the PQ EPS PCB

PQ EPS is an open source PCB design by nanosatlab, published on GitHub. It is a 4-layer board measuring 40 × 40 mm, with 85 components from 40 distinct parts.

Other key parts include the DS2782E+, ISL9120IRTNZ, SPV1040TTR and LTC4040EUFD#PBF. By type, the board carries 9 resistors, 6 ICs, 6 diodes, 5 connectors, 5 inductors and 5 capacitors.

It belongs with the rf & radio, power & battery and sensors designs in this gallery.

From the project

IEEE PocketQubes

Hardware repository for the IEEE GRSS PocketQube built at the NanoSat Lab (UPC).

It holds the complete electrical and mechanical design of the satellite: KiCad projects for every PCB in the stack, the SolidWorks/STEP assembly of the full spacecraft, the deployment mechanisms, and the ground/mechanical support equipment used to integrate and test it.

This repository contains design data only — there is nothing to build or run. Flight and ground software live elsewhere, as does the PL3 payload hardware (nanosatlab/pocat-rfi-5g).

The KiCad project lives in the nanosatlab/pocat-hw repository on GitHub; these links point at the commit this page was built from.

PQ EPS: common questions

How big is the PQ EPS PCB?

The PQ EPS measures 40 × 40 mm, has 4 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.

How many components are on the PQ EPS?

85 components, from 40 distinct parts. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the PQ EPS design files?

From the nanosatlab/pocat-hw repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout and the schematic; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the PQ EPS design in my own project?

The repository has no license, so all rights stay with nanosatlab. Use it as a reference, and ask the author before reusing the design.
