Gameplay focuses on NFC interaction instead of menus.

Gameplay focuses on NFC interaction instead of menus.

Players throw the dice, and depending on where they land, they interact with the game console using their RFID cards. For example, if a player lands on a property, they can use their card to purchase it, or pay rent.

The game keeps track of each player's balance and properties, and updates the display accordingly. The use of RFID cards allows for a more seamless and engaging gaming experience, as players can quickly and easily interact with the game without navigating through complex menus.

Monopoly-Electronic-V2: common questions

What microcontroller does the Monopoly-Electronic-V2 use?

The Monopoly-Electronic-V2 is built around the ESP32-S3-WROOM-1, from the ESP32 family.

How big is the Monopoly-Electronic-V2 PCB?

The Monopoly-Electronic-V2 measures 93.3 × 128.4 mm, has 2 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.

How many components are on the Monopoly-Electronic-V2?

97 components, from 44 distinct parts, with part numbers taken from the project's own BOM. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the Monopoly-Electronic-V2 design files?

From the Pegoku/Monopoly-Electronic-V2 repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout, the schematic and the BOM; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the Monopoly-Electronic-V2 design in my own project?

It is published under CC-BY-NC-4.0, which limits how it may be reused; read the license before building on it.

Can I test firmware for the Monopoly-Electronic-V2 without the hardware?

Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug ESP32 firmware against it before you order a PCB.
