About the Fan32-hardware PCB
Fan32-hardware is an open source ESP32 PCB design by PfannenHans, published on GitHub under the CERN-OHL-P-2.0 license. It is a 4-layer board measuring 63.5 × 74 mm, with 96 components from 35 distinct parts.
Its main chip is the ESP32-C3-MINI-1, from the ESP32 family. Other key parts include the TPS562201, DS18B20U, CH224K, TPD6S300A and TPS61170. By type, the board carries 32 capacitors, 30 resistors, 8 connectors, 7 ICs, 6 diodes and 5 inductors.
It belongs with the iot & wireless and sensors designs in this gallery.
From the project
ESP32C3 based PWM-fan controller board
I did not find a suitable ESP32-based PWM-fan control board that fit all my requirements, so I designed my own. My requirements were: - MCU supported by ESP-Home - USB-C input with USB-power-delivery support - Onboard/external temperature sensor - Support for fans with different voltages (5V, 12V, 24V) - Potentiometer for local control, if needed
- ESP-Home based firmware - Zephyr based firmware

Fan32-hardware: common questions
What microcontroller does the Fan32-hardware use?
The Fan32-hardware is built around the ESP32-C3-MINI-1, from the ESP32 family.
How big is the Fan32-hardware PCB?
The Fan32-hardware measures 63.5 × 74 mm, has 4 copper layers and is 1.61668 mm thick.
How many components are on the Fan32-hardware?
96 components, from 35 distinct parts. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.
Where can I download the Fan32-hardware design files?
From the PfannenHans/fan32-hardware repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout and the schematic; the links under Design files point to each one.
Can I use the Fan32-hardware design in my own project?
Yes, under the terms of its CERN-OHL-P-2.0 license, which PfannenHans chose for the repository.
Can I test firmware for the Fan32-hardware without the hardware?
Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug ESP32 firmware against it before you order a PCB.
