About the Mp3-player-Tamagothci-Companion PCB

Mp3-player-Tamagothci-Companion is an open source RP2040/RP2350 PCB design by rabbaniputrowi-alt, published on GitHub. It is a 2-layer board measuring 78.1 × 77.8 mm, with 29 components from 22 distinct parts.

Its main chip is the RP2040-Zero, from the RP2040/RP2350 family. Other key parts include the DFPlayer Mini, GY-521 MPU6050, TP4056 and DW01A. By type, the board carries 8 resistors, 6 capacitors, 5 ICs, 5 switches, 3 connectors and 1 transistor.

It belongs with the power & battery, audio and displays & leds designs in this gallery.

From the project

Homemade MP3 player integrated with a Tamagotchi Companion you could take care off!

- Bee Swarm Simulator (Gifted bees). The pet's faces are the bees from this Roblox game, and the gifted star is where the star shape comes from. - The Lil Guy from Starboy. A small star-shaped companion you hold in your hand, which is what I wanted to build for real.

Mp3-player-Tamagothci-Companion: common questions

What microcontroller does the Mp3-player-Tamagothci-Companion use?

The Mp3-player-Tamagothci-Companion is built around the RP2040-Zero, from the RP2040/RP2350 family.

How big is the Mp3-player-Tamagothci-Companion PCB?

The Mp3-player-Tamagothci-Companion measures 78.1 × 77.8 mm, has 2 copper layers and is 1.2 mm thick.

How many components are on the Mp3-player-Tamagothci-Companion?

29 components, from 22 distinct parts, with part numbers taken from the project's own BOM. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the Mp3-player-Tamagothci-Companion design files?

From the rabbaniputrowi-alt/Mp3-player-Tamagothci-Companion repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout, the schematic and the BOM; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the Mp3-player-Tamagothci-Companion design in my own project?

The repository has no license, so all rights stay with rabbaniputrowi-alt. Use it as a reference, and ask the author before reusing the design.

Can I test firmware for the Mp3-player-Tamagothci-Companion without the hardware?

Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug RP2040/RP2350 firmware against it before you order a PCB.
