About the SpecVue PCB
SpecVue is an open source ESP32 PCB design by Rujul-Rumale, published on GitHub under the MIT license. It is a 4-layer board measuring 90 × 17 mm, with 72 components from 31 distinct parts.
Its main chip is the ESP32-S3, from the ESP32 family. Other key parts include the W25Q128JVS, MCP73831-2-OT, AMS1117-3.3, LP2985-28DBVR and AP2121AK-1.3TRG1. By type, the board carries 36 capacitors, 17 resistors, 7 ICs, 4 diodes, 3 connectors and 2 inductors.
It belongs with the iot & wireless and power & battery designs in this gallery.
From the project
A 4-layer PCB for smart glasses featuring an ESP32-S3 with camera live streaming and on-device object classification over Wi-Fi.
A 4-layer PCB for smart glasses featuring an ESP32-S3 with camera live streaming and on-device object classification over Wi-Fi.
This board is a compact (90×17 mm) smart glasses controller designed around the ESP32-S3. It captures video from a parallel-interface camera module, runs a lightweight object classifier (e.g., TensorFlow Lite Micro / ESP-DL) on the ESP32-S3, and streams results (bounding boxes, labels) over Wi-Fi — optionally with live video. Li-Po battery powered with built-in charging.

SpecVue: common questions
What microcontroller does the SpecVue use?
The SpecVue is built around the ESP32-S3, from the ESP32 family.
How big is the SpecVue PCB?
The SpecVue measures 90 × 17 mm, has 4 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.
How many components are on the SpecVue?
72 components, from 31 distinct parts, with part numbers taken from the project's own BOM. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.
Where can I download the SpecVue design files?
From the Rujul-Rumale/SpecVue repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout, the schematic and the BOM; the links under Design files point to each one.
Can I use the SpecVue design in my own project?
Yes, under the terms of its MIT license, which Rujul-Rumale chose for the repository.
Can I test firmware for the SpecVue without the hardware?
Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug ESP32 firmware against it before you order a PCB.
