About the AURA PCB

AURA is an open source STM32 PCB design by shourya2007mittal-hub, published on GitHub. It is a 2-layer board measuring 69 × 43.3 mm, with 59 components from 37 distinct parts.

Its main chip is the STM32F401CBUx, from the STM32 family. Other key parts include the AP63203WU, L7805, MPU-6050, BMP280 and ICM-20948. By type, the board carries 26 capacitors, 9 connectors, 7 ICs, 6 resistors, 4 diodes and 2 switches.

It belongs with the robotics & motion and sensors designs in this gallery.

I made a custom Tailless twin motor RC Plane with custom Flight Controller (based on STM32). The Flight Controller will have 2 IMU's and a barometer for precise data collection. The Plane design will include a tailless structure and the motions will be controlled by the flaps on the wings. I have also made custom ESc for the Plane as well.

This repository contains the complete Bill of Materials (BOM) for the RC Plane project, including component quantities, unit prices, total costs, and supplier links.

AURA: common questions

What microcontroller does the AURA use?

The AURA is built around the STM32F401CBUx, from the STM32 family.

How big is the AURA PCB?

The AURA measures 69 × 43.3 mm, has 2 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.

How many components are on the AURA?

59 components, from 37 distinct parts, with part numbers taken from the project's own BOM. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the AURA design files?

From the shourya2007mittal-hub/AURA repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout, the schematic and the BOM; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the AURA design in my own project?

The repository has no license, so all rights stay with shourya2007mittal-hub. Use it as a reference, and ask the author before reusing the design.

Can I test firmware for the AURA without the hardware?

Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug STM32 firmware against it before you order a PCB.
